Working Student for Software Development (m/f/d)

Software developers at Walaris are the heart of our company solving challenging technical problems using the newest technologies. They develop machine learning & image processing systems and continuously design new concepts to generate innovative software solutions. They work together in cross-functional and international teams to exceed the expectations of our customers.

 

  • You bring your own ideas to life while developing real-time AI/ML image processing systems for airspace surveillance.
  • You think out of the box and continuously design new concepts for our software architecture, both to improve performance and to realize new customer requirements. Because ultimately, when our customers are successful, we are successful.
  • You apply agile software development principals on your projects and grow with your responsibilities.
  • You strive for quality in all aspects of software development and not just by seeking, but also by giving feedback.
 
  • You pursue a degree in the field of computer science, engineering or a similar area.
  • You have experience with coding in C++, Python or another relevant programming language.
  • You ideally have some experience in object-oriented software development and are familiar with working in Unix/Linux environments.
  • You have good verbal and written skills in English.

Working Student for R&D / Systems Engineering (m/f/d)

At Walaris’s development center in Nuremberg, AirScout software – the core of Walaris’s technology – and high-end hardware are brought together to form integrated systems for drone detection. The cross-functional team works closely together with the software development and the project team to design, implement, test, and improve new concepts for innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations.

  • You are responsible for performing sensor tests for airspace surveillance at the Tarsier Test Site.
  • You demonstrate your engineering skills by designing and preparing test set-ups for optimal planning, execution, and documentation.
  • You take responsibility on the results and derive recommendations for an enhanced system design.
  • You explore bleeding-edge technologies and learn to pilot small drones like DJI Phantom 4 and DJI Mavic.
  • You bring your ideas and support the project team in delivering high-quality drone detection systems to the customer.
  • You pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or any similar area.
  • You enjoy experimental work and have a high affinity to software as well as hardware.
  • You have basic knowledge in coding (preferred: Python) and working in Unix/Linux environments.
  • You can work independently and take responsibility, but you are also a team player, which will allow you to work harmoniously with talented colleagues!

Intern / Working Student for Software & System Testing (m/f/d)

Software and system testers are essential to the success of the software development process. For Walaris, the tester is providing quality assurance through the creation and implementation of testcases. The software & system tester is also designing test benches using the newest technologies. Together with our development team, they work to exceed the expectations of our customers.

    • You are in close collaboration with our test architect and our software development team to achieve the best output for our clients. Because ultimately, providing functional and performance testing strategies is key to ensure software quality.
    • You take part in the creation and analysis of innovative testcases with our software development team.
    • You are also responsible for the implementation of automated testcases and for ensuring their correct operation.
    • You independently design solid test benches as well as execute system tests and keep an eye on the development progress.
     
  • You pursue a degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or any similar area.
  • You have some experience with coding in Python or another relevant programming language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, or JavaScript).
  • You ideally have initial experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Your good English skills as well as your enthusiasm for working in a team complete your profile.
